According to latest news headlines, peering through the four- and eight-inch-thick concrete walls is not science fiction anymore, because scientists have already disclosed the technology which can help you see through the walls. According to this news report MIT's Lincoln Lab researchers Gregory Charvat and John Peabody has built a system that can see through walls and can give instantaneous picture of the activity of other side of the wall. As report says, their device consists of array of antennas in rows with eight receiving elements on top and 13 transmitting ones below and some computing equipment which is mounted on a movable cart.
According to World News Headlines, this system is made for military operations, especially at urban combat situations. As report says Gregory Charvat and John Peabody had tested their system on a four- and eight-inch-thick concrete wall where at first they transmitted the emitting waves of a certain frequency on a targeted spot and what they found is - more than 99 percent of waves are unable to pass through the walls and at the receiver end they were unable to receive signals in proper way. World news headlines report says that the test was not completely successful and even was not unsuccessful either. According to Charvat, signal loss from the wall is not even the main challenge. "Signal amplifiers are cheap," he said.
Well, at this moment the system needs some fresh changes in equipments which then will be ready to use in high-risk combat situation. According to news report this system would be best for combat situation where solders can have real-time pictures of movement behind the wall in the form of a video at the rate of 10.8 frames per second.
